Public consultation
15 January to 10 April 2014
On 15 January 2014, the Mayor published Draft Further Alterations to the London Plan (FALP) for a twelve week period of public consultation. The FALP have been prepared primarily to address key housing and employment issues emerging from an analysis of census data released since the publication of the London Plan in July 2012, and which indicate a substantial increase in the capital’s population.
The FALP also:
- develop the concept of the London Plan as the ‘London expression of the National Planning Policy Framework’;
- provide a robust, short to medium term planning framework to provide a clear ‘direction of travel’ for the longer term, recognising that this may well have to be reviewed deal with minor changes in terms of fact;
- respond to changes in national policy;
- provide support for the Mayor’s Housing and other strategies; and
- where relevant, address other advice to the Mayor, e.g. from the Outer London Commission.
