The Destruction of the North London 'Welsh Harp Site of Special Scientific Interest' - by Barnet Council

"Make your views known on the West Hendon (Welsh Harp) planning application"
(link for details)

"We need as many individual responses as possible to Barratt's planning application for the West Hendon site, and by Tuesday 14 May. (The existing planning permission is now apparently 'uneconomic', so the tower blocks have been added.)

On-line
"Go to the Barnet Planning site (link) and type H/01054/13 into the search box.
Email
"Email the Barnet Planning Officer dealing with this application quoting the reference number H/01054/13: tom.wyld@barnet.gov.uk
"In both cases, make sure you clearly 'oppose' the application, with your reasons, and give your name, postal address and email address, to get an acknowledgement."

'Brent & Kilburn Times':

"Brent residents ‘unanimously’ oppose Welsh Harp development plans" (link)
"Residents were unanimous in their opposition to a controversial housing development on the Welsh Harp reservoir, at a public meeting in Brent Town Hall.

"Around 100 residents attended the meeting on Saturday to discuss a plan of action against the proposals, which will see around 2,000 new homes built on the border of the reservoir.

"Among the topics discussed included concerns that tenants of the current West Hendon estate may not be able to afford to live in the new developments, and the importance of retaining the area’s SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest)."
