"Austerity High Street: town centre with 12 charity shops"

Link to Evening Standard

"A London suburb has been called a prime example of 'Austerity Street Britain', because of the high number of charity shops dominating its town centre.

"... Retail experts said the increase is being fuelled by a combination of the credit crunch, a change in the law on business rates, and the exodus of big chains into out-of-town complexes." [Surely not like Brent Cross out-of-town complex?]
