"Brent Cross in North London had its busiest ever Boxing Day, luring 65,000 bargain-hunters to the sales – 27 per cent more than last year. In total, more than 900,000 shoppers visited Hammerson’s sites on December 27, the chain’s busiest day in December.
"A spokesman claimed there has been a seismic shift in the public’s attitude to retail parks in the past few years. He said:
"Five years ago they would have just shopped. Now they’re shopping, having something to eat and spending an evening at the cinema."
