Coverpoint: "London Designer Outlet, Wembley Park"

Link to web site

"London’s first designer outlet, fittingly called London Designer Outlet (or LDO, as I overheard locals referring to it), opened its doors on Thursday 24th October 2013 in Wembley Park, adjacent to Wembley Stadium and a stone throw from the existing Wembley Retail Park.

"Offering 85 retailers over 350,000sq.ft., the centre will create approximately 1,500 jobs in Brent Council [sic] once it is fully operational. The opening of LDO also marks the completion of the first phase of a 20-year regeneration project of Wembley Park (formerly known as Wembley City) by Quintain, which also includes the opening of the Brent Council Civic Centre [video below], student accommodation, as well as residential areas.

"... A new designer outlet is hardly news worthy, if it wasn’t for the fact that it is the first of its kind within the M25, and the amount of foodservice that it will provide, once fully operational. Quintain has understood, early on, that the London retail market has plenty of shopping centres with a similar retail mix composition [sic] and has looked for a point of differentiation, given the proximity of LDO to Westfield White City and Central London." [Poor old Brent Cross! Not mentioned. Sob, sob.]
