"Its Bradford project was mothballed during the peak of the financial crisis, and Westfield has been heavily criticised for damaging the economy of the Yorkshire city by delaying the scheme.
"In Croydon, Westfield is planning a 1.5m sq ft redevelopment of the Whitgift shopping centre. However, it faces a battle with [Brent Cross] property company Hammerson, to win control of the site."
