"Residents have given their strongest indication yet of what they want to happen to the town centre.

"According to a YouGov poll, residents want a network of shopping streets with strong links to the rest of the town, and big improvements to North End [the street through the middle].

"The poll was carried out on behalf of shopping centre developer Hammerson. [It recently presented] its updated plans for the Whitgift Quarter to Croydon Council’s Strategic Planning Committee."
