"The Mayor’s office will this week put in a bid to the London Enterprise Partnership for £1m seed funding to create a 'golden triangle' in medical and life sciences research, linking the capital with Oxford and Cambridge.

"... The idea is similar to that of 'Tech City' in east London, where more than 15,000 new companies registered last year.Mr Malthouse told The Sunday Telegraph:

“Britain suffers a drain when it comes to science. We make discoveries but often scientists need to go abroad to expand or get the capital to exploit the potential."
